State Rep. Bruce Antone Announces Continued Support to Improve OBT and Surrounding Neighborhoods

(Orlando, FL) State Representative Bruce Antone (D-Orlando) continues his long standing support of the Orange Blossom Trail Development Board. During the 2016 Florida Legislative Session, Representative Antone secured a $500,000 legislative budget appropriation for the Orange Blossom Trail Development Board. The $500,000 appropriation was included in Florida’s Fiscal Year 2016-2017 budget, and the funding was used to update the Orange Blossom Trail Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) Plan, which has not been revised since its creation in 1990.

The Orange Blossom Trail Safe Neighborhood Improvement District, which Representative Antone played an integral role in developing, was also reviewed and updated. Both plan updates will be incorporated into a new Master Plan for the Orange Blossom Trail Development Board, referred to as OBTNEXT. The OBTNEXT Project encompasses an 8.2 mile stretch of the Highway 441-Orange Blossom Trail corridor from State Road 50 to the Beachline Expressway (SR 528), and the adjacent neighborhoods from Westmoreland Drive to Rio Grande Avenue (east to west).
